About the Filmmakers

 

VALENTINO del TORO - Director
Valentino del Toro comes to the role of Director with the knowledge from working first and foremost as an actor. With roles in Feature Films "Gabriel", recently sold internationally and "Fools Gold" plus starring in the TV Series, Hal & Di McElroy's "Sea Patrol" and the 2006 series of Bryan Brown's "Two Twisted" where he starred alongside Jacqueline Mackenzie. Valentino has worked alongside some highly acclaimed directors such as Shane Abbess and Nick Parsons who have provided great inspiration. Valentino makes his directorial debut with his film "Love Always xx".

 


DENAI GRACIE - Producer
Denai Gracie's film credits include "Gabriel", "Shattered" and "I want Candy". Having worked on numerous commercials and short films in the production field Denai also recently completed working in association with the Australian Film Television and Radio School on the short film project "Junkyard" for the Directors Finals and has also produced short film "Still Life" directed by Shane Abbess. Denai and Bel have worked along side each other on many projects including Commonwealth Games Promo, KFC commercials and Channel Nines "Dancing on Ice" Promos.


BEL de JERSEY - Producer
Bel has produced and managed, working along side Channel Nine and other local Production Companies, numerous commercials since beginning her career in the industry in '94. She also worked abroad in both Ireland & in the UK on Music Videos. Most recently Bel has earned production credits on documentaries "M24 the last sunrise" and as Post Supervisor on "The Battle of Long Tan". In 2005 Bel's short film "There once was a Ball Breaking B#@$#!" was selected and screened at a winners night for The Flickering Image Festival held at the LA Film School on Hollywood Boulevard and further went on to make it through to the finals of Shorts Around Sydney Festival with judges including Liz Watts ("Little Fish").

 

STEVE WILLIAMS - Director of Photography
Steve Williams comes to us from completing filming on documentary "The Battle of Long Tan", his previous filming on documentary "He's Coming South" aired on Foxtel earning a Logie Award earlier this year and personally a AFI Nomination recently for Best Cinematography. Feature film credits include "Techno Junkie" and "Cha Cha Cha D'Amour" and a sample of commercial credits include Rockpool, Telstra, NSW Tourism and OPSM among many others. In his passion for film he has completed numerous masterclasses and workshops both here and in Los Angeles with tutors such as Andrew Lesnie, Don McAlpine and Laszlo Kovacs.

 


Tom English - Music Composer
Tom began composing while completing his Bachelor of Economics at Sydney University, setting up his own recording studio, Alchemy Recordings, in 2002. His focus has, until this year, been on his role as guitarist and songwriter for Bondi-based band 'Venice', which has recently finished writing its first album and plans to tour with this material early next year. Earlier in 2006, Tom composed the soundtrack for the short film 'Humidity Rising' directed by Lousie Alston, which won 'Best Film' at the Reel is Real festival in Wagga. He also placed 10th in the instrumental category of this year's Australian Songwriter's Association national songwriting competition.

 


Enzo Tedeschi - Editor
Enzo, having been editing professionally for close to 10 years, has worked with many formats; initially working on corporates, through to TV on lifestyle shows such as; Getaway & Fresh. He has also cut numerous TV commercials and short films including "Still Life" Directed by Shane Abbess whom he has also worked along side with on "Gabriel" as assistant editor. In this last year Enzo has made a very successful transition into drama including credits such as "Brown Trash" Director Tresa Ponnor (a Finalist at the Bondi Short Film Festival plus other awards) and Short "This Girl" Director Jessica Lockhart (Winner of the LifeLens Film Festival). Enzo is currently cutting his first Feature "Shattered" with Director Jith Sen.
